Mr. Calvin G. McConnell, age 67, of Valley passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence. 

Mr. McConnell was born on June 14, 1949 in Lineville, Alabama to the late, Stanley Owen and Nellie Marie McConnell. 

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00A.M. EDT at Fairfax Cemetery.  The Rev. Steve Sexton officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday morning beginning at 10:00A.M. EDT.

Mr. McConnell is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gwendolyn McConnell; children, Jennifer George, Calvin R. (Cherry) McConnell, Crystal (Jason) Otto, Lawanda Middleton; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) George, Charity (Avery), Caleb, Caty, and Cody McConnell, Hattie and Gracie Otto, Brandon Jennings, and Eboni Middleton; brother, Stanley Richard (Betty) McConnell; niece, Shannon McConnell; nephew, Shane McConnell; a host of cousins and other extended family members.

Mr. McConnell was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that cherished his family above all others.  He was an avid University of Alabama Crimson Tide football fan.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Chattahoochee Hospice.
