Charles Alfred Slagle, 90, of Lanett, Alabama, passed away peacefully Tuesday

evening, July 26, 2016 at Carillon Assisted Living of Wake Forest, NC. He was born

on September 11, 1925 in Roanoke, Alabama the son of the late Walter J. Slagle and

Agatha Higgins Slagle. Mr. Slagle retired from West Point Pepperell after over 40

years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army having fought at the

Battle of Okinawa during World War II.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock EST, Saturday July 30, 2016 at Lanett First

United Methodist Church, 508 South 6th Street, Lanett, AL 36863. The family will

receive friends at the Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home in Lanett on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.  Mr. Slagle is survived by his children, Charles Alfred “Al” Slagle, Jr. & wife

Teresa of Johns Creek, GA and Donna Slagle Blakely & husband Lee of Raleigh, NC;

grandchildren, Brad Slagle & wife Arielle, Karen Blakely Howle and husband Ty,

Mallory Blakely and Abby Blakely; great-grandchildren, Rylan Slagle and Scarlett

Slagle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Slagle; siblings, Guy Slagle,

Berniece Slagle, Wendell Slagle, Catherine Landrum, Doris Slagle, and Billy Slagle
