Mrs. Daisy Brown Gilbert, age 76, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Diversicare of Lanett.

     Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Perry) Brown of Fredonia, AL; her son, Jason (Michelle) Gilbert of Madison, AL; her step-granddaughter, Soji Bedsole of Madison, AL; her two step-daughters, Jenny Howell and Sheila Byrnes; her brother, Brooks Rumph of Waynesboro, GA; her sister-in-law, Louise Brown of Lanett; and her brother-in-law, Bill Gilbert of Valley, AL.

     She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Gilbert, Jr. and Homer Brown; an infant, Jonathan Lamar Brown; and her step-son, Stan Gilbert.

     Mrs. Gilbert was born on March 20, 1940 in Meriwether County, GA.  She was a member of the Huguley United Methodist Church.  She had retired from Spectrum Stores, where she worked in the general office.  She loved animals, her church, and her church family.

     Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Huguley United Methodist Church with the Reverends Rusty Tate and Albert Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett.  The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the church.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chattahoochee Hospice or to the Huguley United Methodist Church in her memory.
