Eugene R. "Yank" LaFountain, 87, of Beulah, Al, Passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday September 21, 2016. Visitation will be Friday, September 23, at Johnson-Brown Funeral Home in Valley AL, From 5:00-7:00 pm EST. Graveside services will be on Saturday September 24, At 2:00 pm EST at Shady Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Bryan Officiating.  Eugene was born in Middlebury, Vt. January 2, 1929. He joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and served in both Vietnam and Korea. He retired with 21 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy, Brothers Tom and Bill, and one sister Harriet Palmer. He is also survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Wilbanks LaFountain, Daughters, Kathy Cotney of Lanett, Dorothy Reaves (Husband Roy), Theda Taylor (Husband Keith) of Beulah; Sister, Alice ReCane of Warrenton, VA; 10 Grandkids and 13 Great-Grand kids.
