Mrs. Matha Sue Dorough Graben, age 75, of Valley, AL passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette, AL.

     Mrs. Graben is survived by her son, Walter M. (Phoebe) Graben, Jr.; her daughter, Kathy G. (Todd) Woodham; her sister, Lou D. (Travis) Johnson; her six grandchildren, Justin Graben, Austin Graben, Faith Graben, Russell Woodham, Mitchell Woodham, and Merridith Woodham; her six nieces and nine great nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her sister, Vonne D. Sanders.

     Mrs. Graben was born on January 3, 1942 in West Point, GA to the late Willie and Ruth Dorough. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut. She was part of West Point Pepperell’s Personnel Dept. for a number of years. She enjoyed working in her yard, watching her hummingbirds, and cooking large meals every Sunday. She greatly loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her favorite saying was “I love you more”.

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Chuck Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
