Mr. Billy Wayne Newton, age 76, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Sunday July 17th, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Newton was born on August 22nd, 1940 in West Point, Georgia to the late William Newton and Willie Jo Nix Newton.

Mr. Newton was loved dearly by his wife, his family, and his many friends.   He was well-known throughout the community and loved by all that knew him.  He worked and retired from the insurance business after 35 years.  He was a member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joanna W. Newton; children, Mike (Patsy) Frazier, Lanett, Dan (Jenny), Racine, Wisconsin; brothers, Larry (Arlette) Newton, Lake Harding Community, Milton (Gwen) Newton, Lake Harding Community, Terry (Kathy) Newton, Birmingham, Alabama; sisters, Barbara Stone, Lanett, Susan (Ronald) Daniel, Elizabethtown, NC; grandchildren, Mary Frazier, Stephanie Frazier, Andrew Frazier, Jaimeson Frazier, Harrison Frazier, Helena Frazier, David Frazier; and his good friend, Walter Okrutny.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 at 11:00A.M. EDT at the Langdale United Methodist Church with interment in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  The Reverend Paul Messer officiating.  Mr. Newton's family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.

The family requests that memorials be made in his memory to the Langdale United Methodist Church, Fairfax United Methodist Church, or to the Plant City United Methodist Church.
