Mr. Darrell F. Nelson, age 75, of Valley passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley.

     Mr. Nelson is survived by his three children, Roger (Linda) Nelson of Huguley, Ronda (Mark) Robinson of Valley, and Debbie (John) Hoffman of Owens Crossroads, AL; twelve grandchildren, Richard (Candice) Nelson, Robert (Whitney) Nelson, Ryan (Jessica) Nelson, Tina (Corey) Vial, Daniel Robinson, Kim (Toby) Swindle, Drew (Alisha) Robinson, Kelly (Jody) Dean, Stephanie (Adam) Earls, Michael Hadaway, Brittney (Timothy) McDonald, and Logan Hoffman; 17 great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Nelson; father, James E. Nelson; spouse, Eunice Nelson; brother, Dale Nelson; Daughter, Karon Moore; grandson, Brandon Hadaway; granddaughter, Christina Earls.

     Mr. Nelson was born on March 21, 1941 in Wetumpka, AL. He was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell. He loved his dogs, birds, his flowers, and the outdoors. He was an avid Alabama fan who cared greatly about his family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Brad Reed officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
