Mr. John Robert Hanna, age 88, of Columbus, formerly of Lanett, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, Georgia.

Mr. Hanna was born on September 27^th, 1929 in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lanett, Alabama.

Mr. Hanna was a United States veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps, the United States Air Force, the United States Navy, and the United States Army.  Upon discharge from his active duty, he remained active in the reserves for each branch he had served.

Mr. Hanna loved to read and was often called upon during his time of service to brief his peers on current events.  His favorite pastimes were watching the University of Notre Dame football and other sports.

He is survived by his wife, Lurline Fulghum Duffey Hanna, Columbus; children, Steven L. Duffey and his wife, Pam, of Valley, Jerry Lee Easterwood and her husband, Bradley, of Valley, Linda Sims and her husband, Larry, of Austell, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 3^rd, 2017 at 2:00P.M. EST at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia.  Father Daniel O'Connell will perform the graveside rites.   Visitation will be private.
