Mr. Johnie “J.B.” Baker, 86, of Valley, AL passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the LaFayette Extended Care in LaFayette, AL.  Graveside services will be Monday, September 4, 2017 at 3:00 PM EST from Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Shane Brooks officiating.  Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 – 2:30 PM EST at Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Powell Baker; three children, Johnie Raymon Baker (Susan); Judy B. Williamson; & Jason Lawrence Baker (Kelly); five grandchildren, Jill Williamson Brooks (Bobby); Jeffery Lamar Williamson (Stefanie), Jessica Lynn Baker; Lance Aaron Baker (Samantha); & Haley Baker Callahan (Charlie); five great-grandchildren; Onna Nicole Williamson, Leviticus Shane Brooks, Sarah McKayla Brooks, Wyatt Jackson, & Brandon James Baker; half-sister, Teresa Baker Kelly; and several nieces & nephews.

Mr. Baker was born in Tallapoosa County, AL on July 15, 1931.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked for West Point Pepperell at the Langdale Mill and retired from Uniroyal Tire in Opelika, AL.  He was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.  He loved tending to his garden, reading his Bible, and he loved his family.    

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
