Mr. Richard Jones Lanier, age 62, of Lanett, Alabama passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 27^th, 2017. 

Mr. Lanier was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell Allen Lanier and LaFayette Lanier, III.

In his earlier years, Mr. Lanier enjoyed playing golf.  He was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Lanier is survived by three brothers, LaFayette Lanier and his wife, Mary Elizabeth, of Lanett, Frank Lanier of Lanett, and John Allen Lanier of Nashville, Tennessee; two nephews also survive him, Thomas Lanier and John Lanier, and his wife, Vanessa, both of Lanett.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at 3:00P.M. EDT at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, Georgia.  His family will be receiving friends in the cemetery following the service.  The Reverend Reid Turner will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian Service Center, P.O. Box 227, Lanett, Alabama 36863.
