Angelia “Babs” Ogburn Cain 58 of Valley, AL passed Sunday, April 24, 2016 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.  Angelia is survived by her fiancé Gary Langley; her 2 children Mark Cain (Heather) and Randi King (Brian); 5 grandchildren Drew, Maddix, McCall, Kyleigh, and Elizabeth; and 2 brothers Jack and Randy Ogburn.  She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Sylvia Ogburn; and brother Danny Ogburn.

Angelia served her country in the United States Air Force from 1979-1983.  She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball in her youth. In her spare time she loved crafting and writing, often times writing poems and short stories. Some of her poems were published by Blue Mountain Greeting Cards. 

After being diagnosed in her early twenties with lupus, Angelia dedicated time and research to work with others diagnosed. She established a lupus support group and participated in chronic disease advocacy. 

Angelia was pursuing her degree in General Studies online from Ashford University.  She was a former employee of East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika working in the Emergency Room Billing Department.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with interment following in Fairfax Cemetery with Sam Wood officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. EST.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in her name to the Lupus Foundation of America at lupus.org.
