Mrs. Belva E. Helton, age 74, of Lanett, Alabama passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 28th, 2017.

Mrs. Helton was born in Monroe, Georgia on November 12th, 1942 to the late William Lewis Stowe and Edna Cooper Stowe.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Barry Helton, and her brother, Jerry Stowe.

She was a member of Davidson Baptist Church in West Point, Georgia, where she often attended and enjoyed the gospel singings that were held at the church.  As her boys were growing up, she enjoyed attending and watching them play baseball.

Mrs. Helton worked as an accountant for Cohens Clothing Store in West Point, Georgia and Spectrum Stores.  

Mrs. Helton enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends.  She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching Georgia Bulldog football with her sons on Saturdays in the fall. 

She is survived by her sons, Don Helton, Jr., Kevin Helton and his wife, Robin, Brian Helton, and Matt Helton; grandchildren, Avin Helton, Laura Helton, Jacob Helton, Josh Helton, and Jordan Helton; sisters, Joy Stowe and Sheryl Ridgeway; several nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at 2:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.
