Mrs. Brooksie French Richardson

July 26, 1920 - April 18, 2017

Mrs. Brooksie French Richardson, age 96, of Valley passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the EAMC Lanier Memorial Nursing Home in Valley.

Mrs. Richardson was born on July 26, 1920 in Wedowee, Alabama to the late Homer French and the late Exa Kirby French.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Swan Richardson; her sisters, Gladys Craft and Annie Mae Fetner; and her brother, Bill French.

Mrs. Richardson was a charter member of the Westside Baptist Church in Lanett.  She was retired from the Big Apple Food Giant Grocery Store in West Point after 25 years of service with the store.

She is survived by her children, Billy Richardson (the late Jacqueline Richardson), of Lanett, Sammy Richardson, of Lanett, Barbara (Johnnie) Meeks, of Andalusia, Alabama, Kathy Lamb, of Valley; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 4:00P.M. EDT at Resthaven Cemetery in Lanett.  The Rev. Bob Lee officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley Thursday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.
