Mrs. Mary J. Hancock, age 95, of Valley passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Lakewood Senior Living Center in Valley.

She was born on August 18, 1921 in Fairfax, Alabama to the late Lilla and Jessie Jones.

Mrs. Hancock was a lifelong resident of the Fairfax Community and a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church.  She had been a very active member of her the church and was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell. 

She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Stell) Gray, Manette (Doug) Kramer; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Gray, Drew (Meagan) Kramer, Ryan (Meghan) Kramer; 6 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoyt Hancock; sister and her husband, Jessie and Lewis Askew.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 2:00P.M. EST at the Fairfax Cemetery.  The Rev. Jerry Ledbetter officiating.  There is no visitation planned prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Fairfax First Baptist Church Lottie Moon Fund in her memory.
