Ms. Jackie Tyson, age 83, of Fairfax, Alabama passed away on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

Ms. Tyson was born on November 22nd, 1933 to the late W.M. Tyson and Nellie Newman Tyson.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Juanita (Sonny) Alford, and Joyce (Harry) Fuller.

Ms. Tyson was a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church.  She retired from the West Point Pepperell Fairfax Mill, where she was a time keeper.  She enjoyed spending time on and at the lake whether it was swimming, boating, or water skiing.  During her retirement years, she loved to travel and one of the highlights of her travels was hot air ballooning over Jackson Hole.

She is survived by her nieces and their husbands, Wendy Alford (Wayne) Stephens, Lake Harding Community, Kristi (Charles) Goldberg, Auburn, Alabama; great niece, Kacey (Matt) Coffey; great nephew, Jeremy Goldberg.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at 4:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with interment in Resthaven Cemetery in Lanett.  The Reverend Rusty Letson officiating.  Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00P.M. EDT until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made in Jackie’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Fairfax.
