     Sara Ted Lamb Colquitt “Teddy”, 89, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2016 in Bossier City, LA.

     She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wiley Colquitt, Jr. She was also preceded by her parents Ted Todd Lamb and Velma Brooks Lamb.

     Sara was born December 17, 1926 in Chambers County, AL. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend.

     Before moving to Bossier City, LA, Sara was a resident of the Lanett, AL area for more than 70 years. She began working at West Point Pepperell’s Fairfax Mill while still in high school. She attended college at Birmingham Southern College where she received a BS in Chemistry. She returned to West Point Pepperell for a rewarding career that spanned over 40 years working at both the Dye Works and Research Center. During her work at Research, Sara was awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent Office for inventing a process for controlling undesirable aldehyde and amine odors in treated textile materials.

     She loved the Lord and was a member of the Lanett First United Methodist Church and Fellowship United Methodist Church in Bossier City, LA. Sara served on multiple boards and committees at both churches.

     Sara loved being out with her family and friends, especially if it involved shopping or eating. She loved playing bridge, dominoes, and Suduko. She was well-known for her Strawberry cake and Chocolate Pound cake. Sara treasured her visits with her grandchildren and great-grandson, Micah, who always put a sparkle in her eye.

     Sara is survived by her only daughter Nancy Colquitt Youngblood and husband Jacob Wade Youngblood, grandchildren, Robert Curtis Youngblood and his wife Brianne, and Megan Youngblood Bolling and her husband Frank, and one great-grandson Micah Franklin Bolling.

     She is also survived by her only sister Ann Lamb Lackey and several nieces and nephews.

     A celebration of life service will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00A.M. EDT at the Lanett First United Methodist Church in Lanett, AL with the family receiving friends at the church at 10:00A.M. EDT. Interment will follow directly after the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, AL.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lanett First United Methodist Church, Fellowship United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice.
