     Willie Joe “Bill” Moody, 75, of Opelika, AL went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2017 after his courageous battle with cancer.

     Bill was born in Montgomery, AL on February 6, 1942 to Joe Brown and Addie Mae Moody. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Candence; and son, James Christopher.

     He is survived by his wife, Linda Moody; four children, Billy (April) Moody of Ladson, SC, Amy (Jeff) Saylor of Beulah, AL, Mark (Amanda) Moody of Beulah, AL, and Jeannie Moody of Opelika, AL; four step children, Wendy (Mark) Ray, Tammy (Randy) Milner, Joey Etheridge, and Kristi (Chris) Bishop; twelve grandchildren, Joey, Zachary, Joseph, Matt, Nikki, Angel, Kailynn, Dusty, Aaron, Matthew, Laken, and Gracie; six step grandchildren, two brothers, Lowell Moody and Ray Moody; two sisters, Doris Carroll and Ann Hardy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

     Bill was an honest, strong, and hardworking gentleman who always helped anyone in need. He loved traveling with his wife, his dogs and fishing.

     A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 3:00 PM (CST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with Brother Jeff Thorn officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (CST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
