Barbara Ann Weldon Obituary

 

     Mrs. Barbara Ann Weldon, age 86, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 in Five Points, Alabama. She was born on August 6th, 1932 in Elba, Alabama.

     Mrs. Weldon is survived by her husband of sixty-five plus years, James G. Weldon; her two daughters, Vicki Ann (Joe) Tittle and Susan Daniel; her two grandchildren, Melissa (David) Mitchell and Michael (Amanda) Tittle; her four great grandchildren, Dixie Fetner, Austin Fetner, Trent Wheeler, and Alex Rackow; her sister, Pamela Ann (James) Meadows.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Mae Brown and Perry Alto Brown; two grandchildren, Jeremy Glenn Fetner and Brandi Renee Daniel; seven siblings, Johnnie Mae Price, Gussie Lumpkin, Mildred Carpenter, Luna Dale Tucker, Shirley Thomaston, William Perry Brown, and Michael Thomas Brown.

     Mrs. Weldon was a member of Community Chapel Church of God in Lanett, Alabama. She was the owner / operator of Nannie’s Daycare for many years. During that time she developed special relationships with all of her kids, who would still call her “Nannie” years later when they would come to visit her. She always went above and beyond to help anyone in need. She loved God and her husband.

     Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, Alabama. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama. The Reverend Mark McGee and the Reverend Loren Sutton will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the funeral home.
