Mr. Carl Dwight Shoemake, age 64, of Valley, AL passed away on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at his residence.

     Mr. Shoemake is survived by his son, Chris (Darlene) Shoemake; his daughter, Amy Hurst; his four step-children, Cheryl (Leonard) Carr, Keith (Kristi) Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, and Amy Burgh; his four grandchildren, Dylan Ogle, JaLeigh Farmer, Christopher Shoemake, and Timothy Shoemake; a host of step-grandchildren, his siblings, Linda Manley, Douglas Shoemake, and Janice Pearson; his aunt, Jeanette Tilley.

     He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennifer Shoemake, his second wife, Charlotte Shoemake; his daughter, Crystal Shoemake; his step-son, Shane Mitchell; his mother, Janice Roberson; and his father, Carl Leonard Shoemake.

     Mr. Shoemake was born on September 29, 1952 in Carrollton, GA. He was an avid Alabama and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed fishing and was a wonderful man.

     Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Doug Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
