Cecil Grady Hood

     Mr. Cecil Grady Hood, age 78, of Canton, GA, formerly of Lanett, AL, passed away on Thursday, April 18th, 2019 in Marietta, GA. He was born on June 8th, 1940 in Gray Hill, GA.

     Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Fay Bowles Hood; his three children, Beth Hood (Mike) Siggers, Michael Grady (Judy) Hood, and Mark Edward Hood; his brother, Thomas Hood; his three grandchildren, Mary Siggers Torbett, Emily Grace Siggers, and Mallory Cecilia Hood; his two great grandchildren, Emma Taylor Torbett and Sarah Grace Torbett.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor Woodhall Hood and Clara Cadenhead Hood; brother, Richard Hood.

     Mr. Hood was a former employee of Batson-Cook Co., who over his fifty-one years of service worked his way up to the position of Chief Financial Officer before his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a great man and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

     Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22nd, 2019 at 11:00 AM (EST) at the graveside in Gray Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in West Point, GA. The Reverend Mark McGee will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:15 AM (EST) until 10:45 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to one’s favorite charity in memory of Mr. Hood.
