Chief Larry Michael Langley, 69, of Beulah passed away at his residence Wednesday, June 12th, 2019.
Retired in 2007, Chief Langley was appointed Chief in 1997 and was a 30 year veteran of the Auburn Fire Department. After retirement from Auburn, Chief Langley began a career with the Alabama Fire College in he retired in 2017.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Langley and his parents, Andrew J. and Nellie R. Langley.
He is survived by his brother, Terry (Kim) Langley; his children, Stacy (Lisa) Langley, Tony (Trixie) Langley, and Torri (Billy) Blackmon; his seven grandchildren, Drew, Nathan, Camry, Megan, Brooke, Ty, and Laren; and also three great grandchildren.
Hero, Son, Brother, Father, Friend were some of the many names he could be called, but none made him more proud than Paw Paw. His favorite past time was traveling to watch his grandchildren play baseball, softball, or sing in the choir. Whatever or wherever their activities took them you could be sure to find him nearby.
Visitation for Chief Langley will be Friday, June 14th, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama. His funeral service will be Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. He will be laid to rest in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that instead of flowers, charitable donations be made in his memory to the Auburn Fire Fighters Association, 222 Shelton Mill Road, Auburn, AL, 36830.
