Debra Lucas McConnell

     Ms. Debra Lucas McConnell, and 65, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 6th, 2019 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. She was born on April 8th, 1954 in Shelby, Ohio to the late William Lucas and Gayle Lucas Daye.

     Ms. McConnell is survived by her sons, Anthony McConnell and Douglas White, both of Valley, Alabama; her granddaughter, Aubrie Marie White of Valley, Alabama; her sisters, Trena (David) Leatherman of Dalton, Georgia and Vickie (Jan Hayes) Lucas of Elkton, Maryland; her nieces, Melissa Hyma, Audrey Partin, and Heather Layser; several great nieces and nephews.

     Ms. McConnell graduated nursing school in 1985. She served as a nurse in the Lanier Hospital Operating Room from 1986 to 1988 and then became an occupational health nurse for West Point Stevens until her retirement. She loved listening to music and her cats.

     A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 at 4:00 PM (EDT) at the Lanett Church of the Nazarene. The Reverend Kent Pelton will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 PM (EDT) until the service hour at the church.
