Franklin "Wayne" Taunton

     Mr. Franklin “Wayne” Taunton, age 84, of Huguley, AL passed away on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 in LaGrange, GA. He was born on October 7th, 1934 in Clay County, AL to the late Grace and John Walker Taunton.

     Mr. Taunton is survived by his wife, Shirley Thrower Taunton; his three children, Paula Taunton Sherrill, Stephen (Donna) Taunton, and Franklin (Melissa) Taunton; his two sisters, Louise Taunton Askew and Anita Taunton Moon; his three grandchildren, Jamie Barrett, Jason Sherrill, and Kaelynne Taunton; his two great grandchildren, Jessica Barrett and Joseph Barrett.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and John Walker; his brothers, Johnny Taunton and Mike Taunton.

     Mr. Taunton was of the Baptist faith. He was a machinist at Sims Metal Works in Lanett for many years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and watching animals, especially birds.

     Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019 at 10:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. The Reverend Brad Reed will officiate. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
