I was sorry to read of Mr. Gerald Wayne's passing . He was such a good friend to my parents (Mose & Elizabeth Ann Calhoun). I've heard them speak often of how much they enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge back in the day to hear their band. Thoughts and prayers for the family .

I feel fortunate to have known Gerald Wayne all through high school, and to have seen him at several Valley High reunions. I'll never forget the impersonation he gave, of The "Great Swami," at one of our reunions in Auburn. His sense of humor and creativity were unique. We bought a car from him once, because we knew he was trustworthy.
When we attended his funeral service, we learned what a wonderful husband and father he was, which was not surprising.
His favorite slogan was "There are 2 kinds of people. Those that are from Langdale, and those who wish they were." I guess I belong in the latter category, since I grew up in Fairfax, not Langdale. I always remember Geral Wayne's words when we drive through Langdale!
I will miss him.

Suzanne and family, I was just browsing through Facebook and came upon Gerald Wayne's obituary. I am so shocked and saddened by this news. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll make it down to the Valley for the service, but please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. He was so special to Jerome and me and so much fun to be around.
