Mr. Harvey Quinton Brooks, 95, a resident of Valley, AL passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Bethany House Hospice in Auburn.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM EST from Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST at the funeral home on Friday.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his daughters, Angie Hudmon, Shirley Brooks, Jo Ann Lewis, and Barbara Brooks; grandchildren, Brandon Lewis & Anna Lewis; special caregivers, Cathy Weldon, Beth Hill & Benita Gunnells, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife of  67 years, Hazel Brooks; sons-in-law, Randy Hudmon & Terry Lewis; brothers, Andrew Brooks, Asbury Brooks, & Comer Brooks; and sisters, Minnie Stewart & Maude Stewart. 

Mr. Brooks was born in Jack, AL on September 23, 1921.  He served with the U. S. Army 21st Evac Hospital in WWII, and then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and retired after 21 years as a Tech Sergeant.  After his retirement from the Air Force, he was the grounds keeper at Uniroyal Tire Plant for many years.  He was a member of the Baptist faith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany House Hospice in Auburn.
