John Alvin Askew, Jr., of Pensacola, Florida passed in peace on Saturday the 10th of August 2019. Johnny was born on the 19th of May 1942 in LaFayette, AL. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, Alabama football & Nascar fan & he spent 4 years serving his country in the U.S. Army. Johnny also loved his family & will be missed dearly by all who he greeted with a Roll Tide!

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; John & Gladys Askew, brother Wesley (Buck) Askew.

Those left to cherish his memories include his children, Melisa Askew (Charles) and Shane Adams (Tammy), grandsons, Taylor Williams, Matthew Adams, Jonathan Adams & 4 great- granddaughters; his sisters, Linda Pitman & Diane Palmer; brothers, Phillip Askew & John David Askew; aunt, Olene Abney, & many cousins, nieces, nephews, & friends that he loved dearly.

Graveside services will be at 3pm EST Friday the 16th at Fairfax Cemetery in Valley, AL. The family will receive friends at the cemetery prior to the service. Everyone will assemble at the gravesite.

Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley is entrusted with arrangements.
