John David Paschal Obituary

Mr. John David Paschal, age 57, entered into eternal glory on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019.

John was born on June 9th, 1961 to John Bernard and Mildred Williams Paschal.

He was a 1979 graduate of Valley High School and also attended Southern Union State Junior College.

John was later employed with West Point Pepperell for a short time until he took a position working in the dental lab at Drs. Tatum and Tatum in Opelika, AL. In 2009 John began his career with KMMG and was an Assistant Manager for Quality in the Paint and Weld Dept.

In October 2000, John met the love of his life, as God brought him and Dawn Renee Brandt together. Even though their courtship lasted over a year, they had actually only spent thirty days in each other’s presence, when they finally married on February 9th, 2002 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

In October 2005 they welcomed a precious baby girl in to their lives, Brookelynn Machelle Paschal.

It didn’t take long to figure out the special bond that both John and Brookelynn would share. Brookelynn was John’s pride and joy, whom he took on never ending adventures such as, riding dirt roads, eating Moon Pies and drinking RCs. She soon learned several of his talents as well, such as photography and softball.

John is survived by his wife, Dawn Renee Paschal of Five Points, AL; his daughter, Brookelynn Machelle Paschel of Five Points, AL; his father, John Bernard Paschal of Valley, AL; his two sisters, Juanita Paschal Leak of Carrollton, GA and Janice Paschal Fields and brother in law, Tommy Fields of Valley, AL; his in laws, Ronald and Linda Brandt of Louisville, TN. He also has many other family members from nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, brother and sister in laws, all of whom John dearly loved.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Williams Paschal; his brother in law, Douglas Paul Leak; his “adopted father”, Joe Owen Kennedy; as well as two other children he never held until now.

John will be remembered as a kind hearted, humble, gentle, hard working person that tried daily to be an example of Christ’s love. He was a devoted husband and father, and a friend to all he met. He loved God with all his heart, and he was a man of integrity.

John smiles even now, for it’s not goodbye to those he left behind, but rather, see you later.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Friendship Christian Church in Valley, AL. The Ministers Buddy Harris and Kevin Bauer will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of John to the Brookelynn Paschal Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1483, Valley, AL 36854
