Lanita Doris Cross Cotney

     Mrs. Lanita Doris Cross Cotney, 75, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 at her residence. She was born on June 29th, 1943 in Texas.

     Mrs. Cotney is survived by her children, Tammy Lynn Cotney Hatchett and Bogey (Cyndee) Cotney; her grandchildren, Bruce Cotney, Adrian James Monroe, and Lanita Sunshine Martinez Cotney; her great grandchild, Hayden James Monroe; her sister, Cindy Cross (Larry) Skipper; her sisters in law, Billie Joyce Cross, LaVerne Cotney, and Saundra Hood; her brother in law, David Cotney; her niece, Ashley Skipper.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Cross and Annie Cross; her husband, Gerald Cotney; her brother, Rayford Cross.

     Mrs. Cotney was a member of The Upper Room Church in Valley. She was committed to her church and the gospel and was always willing to serve if needed. She loved her God, her children and grandchildren, and her granddog, BoBo.

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28th, 2019 at 11:00 AM (EST) at The Upper Room Church in Valley. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Pastor Bogey Cotney and Minister David Copeland will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
