Mr. Dale A. Richards, Sr.

Mr. Dale A. Richards, Sr., age 72, of Birmingham, passed away on Friday, May 24^th, 2019 at the Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia.

He was born on June 7^th, 1946 in Fairfield, Alabama to the late Ralph Lambert Richards, Sr. and Virginia Collignon Richards.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Lambert Richards, Jr.

He was a member of the Liberty Church in Birmingham.

Mr. Richards was a man of faith who loved the Lord and read his Bible on a daily basis.  He loved reading the Bible to his wife, Hilda, and together they would have celebrated their 50^th wedding anniversary in less than two weeks. 

He was also an avid Auburn football fan.

Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Hilda R. Richards; children, D. Allan (Laura) Richards, Jr., Christopher (Allison) Richards, Mona (Cory) Ferguson; grandchildren, Abigail, Isabella, Laura Sophia, Jaden, Sarah, and Elijah; sister-in-law, Katie Richards; niece, Tamela Lowery; nephews, Gregory Couch, Chris Richards.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29^th, 2019 at 10:30A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley.  Pastor Danny Smith and the Reverend Bill Stamp will be officiating the services.  A graveside service will be held following the service at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham at 1:30P.M. CDT.  His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:30A.M. EDT until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in his memory to the Liberty Church, 2732 Old Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35216.
