Mr. Jerry W. Taylor, age 68, of Five Points, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 1st, 2018 at the Parkwood Healthcare Facility in Phenix City, Alabama.

Mr. Taylor was born on June 5th, 1949 in Langdale, Alabama.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Mattie Taylor and a brother, Donald Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was a United States Navy veteran who served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  After his discharge from the service, he worked for many years at the Fairfax Mill, until his retirement.  He was often seen around the Valley and LaGrange, Georgia areas helping the elderly and those in need with their lawn care.  He enjoyed watching Fox News and playing video games.

He is survived by his children, John Taylor and Rachael Whaley; grandchildren, Colin Whaley and Alisa Williams; siblings, James Taylor, Opelika, Ronald Taylor, Montgomery, Charlie Taylor, Beulah, Lester Taylor, Valley, Joyce Bissett, Grayhill, Georgia, Linda Jones, Grayhill, Georgia, Becky Hachtel, Herndon, KY., Tim Taylor, Fredonia, Angela Osbahr, Five Points, Susan Taylor, Valley, Kathy Taylor, Fredonia, Martin Taylor, Fredonia, Shannon Taylor, Valley.

A memorial service will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church in Five Points, Alabama on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at 2:00P.M. EST with the Reverend Doug Blackmon officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00P.M. EST until 2:00P.M. EST.
