Mr. Kirby E. Underwood

Mr. Kirby E. Underwood, age 92, of Valley, Alabama passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, 2018 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Jarvis Underwood; infant daughter, Mitzi; parents, Kirby Underwood and Cora Still Underwood; two brothers, Curtis and Percy; sister, Janette. 

He survived by his children, Candy Beck, Robin (Johnny) White, Mal (Becky) Underwood, Joe (Hope) Underwood; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Underwood was a United States Army World War II veteran, as well as a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He retired from the Ampex Corporation in Opelika and was a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28^th, 2018 at 2:00P.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with interment following in Fairfax Cemetery.  The Reverend Rusty Letson will be officiating the service. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00P.M. EST until the service hour.
