Mr. Larry Waldroup, age 72, of Valley passed away on Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley.

Mr. Waldroup was born in West Point, Georgia on July 7th, 1945 to the late Robert Waldroup and Margaret Bolt Waldroup.  He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Britny Waldroup, and sister, Carolyn Walls.  

He was a member of the Lanett First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Waldroup was known as a loving, kind-hearted, and caring father, uncle, grandfather, and friend.   He was a man who never spoke negatively about another person and he never complained about anything.  He was always thankful for the smallest things in life and the things that others did for him. He loved his family, enjoyed attending their family reunions, and spending time with his family of friends at Sylvia Word Manor. 

He enjoyed trips to the mountains, was an avid Auburn University football fan, and loved to watch old Western movies. 

He is survived by his son, Robbie Waldroup, Lanett; nephew, Dale Walls, Lanett; granddaughter, Zoey Waldroup, Lanett.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017 at 11:00A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.   The Reverend Rusty Williams and the Reverend Reid Turner will be officiating the service.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Chattahoochee Hospice or to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Waldroup’s memory.
