Mr. Roy “Dan” Butts, age 89, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Friday September 1^st, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Butts was born in Langdale, Alabama on January 15^th, 1928 to the late Roy Butts and Leona Hawkins Butts.

Mr. Butts was retired from the United States Air Force having served our country for 24 years.  After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for West Point Pepperell’s Lanett Mill in the Quality Control Department and retired 23 years later. 

He was a very active member of the First Christian Church of Lanett. 

He enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren and his great-grandchild.  He also enjoyed spending time on the lakes and rivers fishing.

Mr. Butts is survived by his wife, Elaine A. Butts; son, Jeffery W. (Pamela) Butts; siblings, Betty Shaw and William Butts; grandchildren, Meaghan Butts, Seth Butts; great-grandchild, Brock Harp.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Becky MacDonald.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 5^th, 2017 at 2:00P.M. EDT at the First Christian Church in Lanett with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery.  The Reverend David Bradshaw officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Lanett Monday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.

Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests that memorials be made in Mr. Butt’s name to the First Christian Church of Lanett.
