Mrs. Haynes was my 3rd grade teacher many years ago but she was always my favorite. She was an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her. I didn't know she was a graduate of Jacksonville State--I graduated from there also and taught school for 34 years and became a teacher partially because of her.

Carolyn "hugged" us into the family when our son married her great-niece, Katie. It was obvious she had a special gift for making people of all ages feel at home and welcome. And fed! So sorry to hear of her passing, and so glad we were able to spend time with such a lovely, gracious lady. Thinking of you all.

Mrs Carolyn was never a teacher in school to either one of us but she taught us so much with her smile, hugs and greetings. She had a lot of children other than the ones she taught. We will miss her. Blessings to all the family. Paul Messer, we are praying for you today.

Peggy, Joy and family:
Miss Haynes meant the world not only to me but my family also, although she never taught me in school, I learned lots of lessons from her as one of the "Crestview Kids". I can still remember cutting her grass early in the morning and delivering the Valley Times to her house, and occasionally eating a hot tea cake.
Our prayers are with you and the family during this time as she will be greatly missed.

When you are a child you think that everyone will live forever. Mrs. Haynes was one of the sweetest women I knew and the best 2nd grade teacher in Chambers County (I may be bias...smile) The last time I saw her was 5 years ago when she brought home made cookies by the house after loosing my mom. As I sit here and think about ALL the smart, loving, and firm teachers/administrators that graced Fairfax Elementary School my heart becomes sadden, but I rejoice in knowing that they all knew who was the ultimate educator!
Thank you Mrs. Haynes for sharing time and space with me to help mold me into the woman I am today! Much love to the family!

Mrs. Haynes taught me 42 years ago. From that day, she called me her Sweet Little Allison. She was loved by my entire family, especially my aunt Helen Taylor. A few months ago, I received the sweetest note from her. She wanted to tell me how much she loved me and my family, what we had all meant to her, and to tell me Happy Anniversary that my new family were always in her prayers. I treasure that card because I knew what it meant. I'm sure that many more got their own special note from her. She truly loved everyone and everyone loved her. My love and prayers are with you all!

Over the years when seeing her by chance brought back so many special memories. She not taught us our school work but instilled in me so many things about about life. We saw her many times at Huguley Fall Festival and she would have a Big Red Kiss on her cheek that she had gotten from a special person at the kissing booth (Joy Power) Please know that she will live in our hearts forever. Sending hugs and love to all the family. What wonderful memories we have to remember our friend. Miss Caroline was ageless in her conversation with all who ever visited her. I will forever see her in her chair with a glass of sweet tea.

The memories I cherish the most include Fairfax Elementary and the kind, loving teacher's I had there. Mrs. Haynes was a special lady and as a child you could tell she truly cared about you. This meant a lot to me as I was very shy and didn't make friend's easily in my early years. She will be greatly missed, I pray that we shall meet again someday. Prayers for the family.
