Mrs. Eleanor Colley Shepherd Obituary

Mrs. Eleanor C. Shepherd, age 81, of Cusseta, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 1^st, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Shepherd was born on February 1^st, 1938 in Lanett, Alabama to the late Alton Colley and Maggie Lois Smith Colley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Shepherd; two infant children; siblings, Alicia Greene, Neville Colley, William Colley, Jerome Colley, and Larmie Colley.

Mrs. Shepherd attended The Bridge Church in Beulah, Alabama.

She enjoyed doing needlepoint, crocheting, and embroidery. She also loved to travel and loved cooking and baking for her family and others. Her favorite times of the year to cook and bake were during the festive seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas. She and her late husband, John, were both very caring people who were always willing to help others who were in need.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Anita) Shepherd, Terry (Deanna) Shepherd; siblings, Gaynor (Charles) Mitchell, Jim Arthur (Sandra) Colley, Kathleen (Paul) East, Beverly McClelland, Aulcie Colley, Deborah (Archie) Archuletta, Tedric (Jackie) Colley, Beric (Melanie) Colley, Donita (Gary) Walls; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6^th, 2019 at 10:00A.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley. The Reverend Bill Bryan officiating. A graveside will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00P.M. at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00P.M. EST until 8:00P.M. EST.
