Mrs. Ellendor Webb Ragsdale Obituary

Mrs. Ellendor Webb Ragsdale, age 95, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, February 27^th, 2019 at her daughter’s residence in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

She was born in LaFayette, Alabama on August 11^th, 1923 to the late Sterling Combs Webb and Flora Jefferson Wallace Webb.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rance T. Ragsdale; siblings, Mary Kate McGilvrey and her husband, Earl, Myrtle Langley and her husband, Earl, Alva Webb and his wife, Florence.

Mrs. Ragsdale was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. Before her health declined, she was a very active member of the church and often cared for the babies and toddlers in the nursery.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loving friend to many.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Melvin) Fields, Ruth Bell, John S. Ragsdale, Jane (Rickey) Patton; grandchildren, Tamra Bell Gilchrist, Amanda Bell, Aurelia Bell Watson; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Damon, Kami, Joshua, Aubrey; nieces and nephews, Freda Ireland, Lynda Toney, Alva Webb, Jr. , Betty Carol Smith, Earl Langley, Margo McGilvrey; and many great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2^nd, 2019 at 11:00A.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Fairfax Cemetery. The Reverend Nathan Lawrence officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00A.M. EST until the service hour.

Flowers will be kindly accepted or the family suggests that memorials be made in Mrs. Ragsdale’s memory to a charity of one’s choice or to Valley Baptist Church.
