Mrs. Evelyn P. Tolson Obituary

Mrs. Evelyn P. Tolson, age 84, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 21^st, 2019 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.

Mrs. Tolson was born in Tallapoosa County on September 22^nd, 1935 to the late Lee Jack Patillo and Lottie Watkins Patillo.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jerry Tolson; sister, Sallie Hudson.

She was a member of the Langdale Congregational Christian Church.

Being born and raised during the years of the Great Depression, she learned many lessons and established values that remained with her throughout her life. These values and beliefs were displayed in how she lived and approached life.

Mrs. Tolson loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other children in the community.

She loved reading, volunteering, and spending time with the Chattahoochee Hospice quilters.

Mrs. Tolson is survived by her children, Linda (Don) Kennedy, Valley, Renda (Randy) Johnson, Valley, Jennifer (Brad) Thompson, LaFayette, Brian (Olivia) Tolson, Clermont, Florida; brother-in-law, Junior Hudson, Tallassee; grandchildren, Debra (Don) Vines, Tony (Missty) Kennedy, Jimmy (Michele) Kennedy, Jeffrey (Christine) Kennedy, Joey (Tiffany) Godfrey, Brandon (Kristen) Godfrey, Ashley (Matt) Young, Aimee (Logan) Weathers, Bradley (DeAnna) Thompson, III, Halee Tolson, Abigail Tolson, Thomas Tolson; 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23^rd, 2019 at 2:00p.m. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday from 1:00p.m. EST until the service hour.
