Mrs. Pattie Orange Smith

Pattie Orange Smith, 76, of Lanett, AL passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the East Alabama Medical Center at Lanier.  She was born in Langdale, AL on August 31, 1941.  She had worked previously at the West Point Stevens Carter Mill and at Walmart and was a member of the Christian faith. 

Survivors include her husband of 61 years and the love of her life, Jerry Smith.  On November 1, 1956 they were married and together they raised their family, including Chris (Denise) Smith, Regina Smith, Shelia (Rusty) Ennis, Marc (Melissa) Smith, & Karen (Mel) Fetner; six grandchildren, Lauren Cooper, Stephanie Smith, Anna Ennis, Jessica (Jacob) Blanton, Matthew (Karen) Smith & Emma (Josh) Sims;  seven great-grandchildren, Tatum Smith, Ben Cooper, Andrew Smith, Allyson Smith, McKenzie Sims, Gracelyn Blanton, Harrison Blanton, and her unborn great-grandson, Noah Smith.  Other survivors include her step-father, Harold Voss, brothers, Charles Orange & Greg Newman, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Cecil Orange and Eva Edwina Boddie Voss, daughter-in-law, Denise Brennen, grandson, Bradley Marc Smith, and her sister-in-law, Cheryl Orange. 

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as her pet dogs, Gator & Zoey.  Her hobbies included, gardening, shopping and reading.  She loved her family and would do anything for them.  She was a people person and made many good close friendships in her lifetime.  She loved to work because she got to meet new people all the time.  She had a wonderful sense of humor.  She was a kind hearted sassy lady and loved the Lord.  She is surely rejoicing with her maker now.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family.  The family requests the omission of flowers.  A memorial contribution may be made to one’s favorite charity in her memory.
