Ms. Mary Alice Lumpkin

August 22, 1955 ~ September 14, 2019 (age 64)

 

 

Ms. Mary Alice Lumpkin, age 64, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at her residence.

Ms. Lumpkin was born in Langdale, Alabama to the late Glen Edmond Eldridge Lumpkin and Sara Belle Smith Lumpkin.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Leroy Lumpkin, Eva Mae Slay, Archie Lumpkin, Margaret Tyson, Eldridge Lumpkin, and Jasper Lumpkin.

Ms. Lumpkin was affectionately known to her family as “Mae Mae”.  She was a very competitive person and loved to play bingo, card games, and video games with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephew.  “Mae Mae” was the family authority on all things.

She is survived by her siblings, Sheila Lumpkin, Duvard (Terri) Lumpkin, and Betty Jean (Jerry) Hunt; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family members.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2019 at 11:00A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 10:00A.M. EDT until the service hour.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  https://www.stjude.org/
