Rex Alan Barton

     Mr. Rex Alan Barton, age 62, of Valley, AL passed away on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA. He was born on June 1st, 1956 in Chamblee GA to the late Ruby Estelle Barton and John Rex Barton.

     Mr. Barton is survived by his sister, Cathy Ann (Dennis) Ogle of Valley, AL; his three nephews, Toby Bailey of Valley, AL, Tony Bailey of Columbus, GA, and David Stringer of Florida; his niece, Tiffany Sanford of Atlanta, GA; several aunts, uncles, grandnieces and grandnephews, one great grandniece.

     Mr. Barton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rex, GA. He enjoyed working and spending time outdoors, bowling, and telling jokes. He loved to spend time with his family. His favorite saying was “be happy because I’m happy”.

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at 10:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay, GA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home in Valley.
