William M. "Billy" Cole Obituary

Mr. William M. “Billy” Cole, age 91, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Thursday, August 1st, 2019 at his daughter’s residence. He was born on December 9th, 1927 in Opelika, Alabama.

Mr. Cole is survived by his children, Debra (Tommy) Reaves, Sherry (Richard) Smith, and Scotty Cole; his six grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one and a half years, Marjorie Lumpkin Cole.

Mr. Cole was a member of Three Pines Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell’s Lanett Mill. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War and later the National Guard. He had been living in Sharpsburg, Georgia with his daughter for the last ten years.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5th, 2019 at 10:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
