Annette Greathouse Obituary

Annette Greathouse, entered into glory with her Lord Jesus Christ at sundown on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in LaGrange, Georgia. Born on January 13, 1941, in Langdale, Alabama, Annette's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the deep bonds she forged with those she loved.

Annette's journey began as the cherished daughter of Lewis Pitts and Audrey Orean McCullough Pitts. Her early years laid the foundation for a life filled with music, devotion, and family. Annette's path led her to the heart of Wayne Greathouse, and together they embarked on a 54-year-long partnership, rooted in faith and companionship, until his passing. Their love was a guiding light for their children, Roxanne, Jonathan, and his wife Karla, and Micah and his wife Lynn, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. Annette's life was enriched by the joy of her grandchildren, Sunnie Cotton and her husband Chase, Joshua Norris and his fiancee Sara Dotson, MacKenzie Greathouse and his wife Sarah, Taylor Greathouse, Erika Whaley, Hunter Abney, Karlee Abney, Jeffery Greathouse and his wife Victoria, Brandon Greathouse and his wife Danielle, and Erica Greathouse. Her thirteen great-grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she reveled in their growth and discoveries. The family will forever cherish the memories of their beloved matriarch, who was preceded in death by her grandson Cooper Abney, her parents, and her brothers Thomas, Frank, and John Albert Pitts.

Annette's life was a symphony of service and music. For over two decades, she graced the Northside Baptist Church as its pianist, touching the congregation with her talent and dedication. Her role as a pastor's wife was not merely a title but a calling she fulfilled with grace and commitment for 46 years. Annette's passion for music extended beyond the church walls as she nurtured the talents of countless piano students, leaving behind a legacy of pianists who will continue to spread the joy of music.

Her interests were a reflection of her character—loving, faith-filled, and spirited. Annette was a steadfast presence in her family's life, embodying high standards and an unwavering belief system. She stood her ground with a gentle firmness that earned her the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Annette's ability to listen, truly listen, made her a confidante and pillar of support for her family and friends.

Annette Greathouse's life was a portrait of love in action. Her spirit, though no longer present in body, continues to inspire and guide those she touched. Her family, a living tribute to her love, will carry on her spirit, ensuring that her memory remains a blessing to all. Annette's journey on earth may have concluded, but the melody of her life will resonate for generations to come.
