Mrs. Ashley “Alaska” Stoddard-Ozyurt, age 31, of Beulah, Alabama passed away on Friday, October 29th, 2021 at her residence. She was born on December 4th, 1989 at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska to Anthony and Kimberly Stoddard.
Ashley is survived by her husband, Atilla Ozyurt; parents, Anthony and Kimberly Stoddard; sisters, Rebecca (Daniel) Wilson, Crystal (Skye) Cheney, and Jazmyn Stoddard; grandmothers, Shirley Newby and Bea Larson; nieces and nephew, Caroline Wilson, Noah Cheney, and Mikayla Cheney; uncles, Ned (Lisa) Newby, Victor Willett, and Jeffery Larson; aunt, Kathy Morrow; cousins, David and Matthew Newby.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Roy Newby and Dwayne Stoddard; great grandmother, Doris Bucksar.
Ashley approached all life's adventures in her own unique way. She loved her family, her dog Oz, tattoos, and vintage band tees. She spent her free time with family, farm animals, and learning to ride her new motorcycle. Ashley made her altar call on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Wallace Chapel Baptist Church.
Ashley graduated from Beulah High School in 2008. After graduation she attended Southern Union Community College where she pursued a degree in cosmetology. While in school, she felt called and followed in her Daddy's footsteps by enlisting in the United States Air Force. She served in the military for almost two years before she received a spinal injury that ended her career.
After returning home, Ashley purchased her home and attended Auburn University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
Ashley's strength and determination inspired so many and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
A Memorial service celebrating Ashley’s life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 2:00P.M. CDT 3:00P.M. EDT at Wallace Chapel Baptist Church in Beulah.
