Mrs. Barbara Benefield Milam, age 83, of West Point, Georgia passed away on October 26th, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born on August 25th, 1942, in West Point.
Mrs. Milam is survived by her two daughters, Donna Handley (Marc) and Mitzi Wise (Eric); her four grandchildren, Caroline and Hope Handley and Lily and Noah Wise; her two sisters, Gwen Benefield and Angela Ballard (Jimmy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Milam; parents, T. H. “Hank” Benefield and Lueola Wilson Benefield; and her siblings, R. T. Benefield, Helen Pitts, Russell Benefield, and Wade Benefield.
Mrs. Milam was an easy-going lady who enjoyed bowling and trips to Biloxi. She loved being with her family, especially her sisters. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Funeral services for Mrs. Milam will be held on Friday, October 31st, 2025, at 2:30 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Harmony Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Nathan Lawrence will officiate. Mrs. Milam’s family will receive friends Friday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:30 PM (EDT) until the service hour.
