     Barry Allen Matthew McCard, Jr., affectionately known as Barry, passed away on October 4, 2023, in Auburn, Alabama. Born on September 19, 1997, in Opelika, Alabama, Barry was a beacon of positivity, generosity, and humor, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.

     Barry was a devoted father to his children, Matthew Rider McCard and Autumn Rain Patterson. His love for them was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a beloved son to his mother, Patsy Lynn Craven, and cherished grandson to Irma Hill. Barry was also a loving brother to his twin sister, Mary McCard Walker (Landon), Stacey Bradley, Jr., Betty Bradley, Joseph "JoJo" McCard (Ronni), Randall Overton, Jr., Daphney McCard, Elizabeth Overton, Vidalia "ViVi" Overton, and Barry J. McCard. His family was his rock, and he was theirs, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Allen Matthew McCard, Sr.; and his great aunt, Martha Ann Chatham East.

     Barry was a man of many interests, but his passion for fitness was unmatched. He enjoyed working out, running, and riding bicycles, often inviting family and friends to join him. His love for music was another facet of his vibrant personality. Whether it was a family gathering or a quiet evening at home, Barry's favorite tunes could always be heard, creating a joyful atmosphere that will be deeply missed.

     Barry's selfless nature was one of his most admirable qualities. He was always ready to help anyone in need, often going out of his way to lend a hand. His generosity extended beyond his family and friends, touching the lives of many in his community. His friendly demeanor and infectious laughter made him a joy to be around, and he had a knack for turning even the most mundane moments into memorable ones.

     Barry was known for his great sense of humor. He had a unique ability to find humor in every situation, often lightening the mood with his quick wit and infectious laughter. His positive outlook on life was contagious, and he had a knack for making everyone around him feel special and loved.

     In remembering Barry, we celebrate a life lived with passion, generosity, and a deep love for his family and friends. His spirit, humor, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Barry Allen Matthew McCard, Jr. will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

     Funeral services for Barry will be held on Monday, October 9th, 2023 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke, Alabama. Pastor Horace Harper and Pastor Landon Walker will officiate. Barry’s family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
