Obituary

Barry L. Love, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 13, 2023, in Valley, Alabama. Born in Langdale, Alabama, on October 4, 1946, Barry's life was marked by service, love for his family, and an unwavering passion for his interests.

Barry attended Harrington Heights and was baptized at Jackson Memorial. He served his country with distinction in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic and later became a captain. His commitment to his country was a testament to his character, embodying the words of John F. Kennedy, "Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country."

Barry was a man of many interests and passions. He had a deep love for music, often found playing the bass and guitar. His love for music extended to DJ'ing, where he shared his favorite tunes with others. Barry was also a car enthusiast, regularly attending car shows and taking great pride in his prized Corvette. An avid sports fan, he was a loyal supporter of the Atlanta Braves and The Crimson Tide. Barry's love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm and appreciation for nature's beauty.

Barry's vibrant personality and warm heart made him a friend to all. As the saying goes, "Barry never met a stranger." His infectious laughter and kind spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Angela B. Love, and their children, Jeremy C. Love and Madison Hunter Love. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Donna Spears, Robert Elkins, Barbara Marie Coker, and Elizabeth Ann Coker. Barry was a doting grandfather to six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Barry's loyal canine companion, Mercedes, will surely miss his loving presence.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy E. Love and Willie Mae Watson Love, a brother, Truman; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby and Janice Bowen

His life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. As we remember Barry, let us celebrate his life and the joy he brought to others. In the words of Albert Einstein, "Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life." Barry L. Love's spirit will continue to live on in his family and the many lives he touched.

Barry L. Love's life was one well lived, full of love, service, and passion. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him. We celebrate his life and the joy he brought to others.

Rest in peace, Barry L. Love. You will be missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of those you touched.
