Carrie Elizabeth Langford, 84, formerly of LaFayette, AL, passed away October 3, 2020 in Macon, GA. She was born September 27, 1936 to Ed and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Massey.
Carrie enjoyed flowers, camping and gardening. She had a knack for identifying the most obscure vegetation and always wanted a cutting of something. She was notorious for collecting flowers and plants from all the locations she visited.
She also enjoyed dancing and singing classic hymnals.
Survivors include her spouse of 23 years; James “Billy” Langford of LaFayette, AL. She is also survived by 9 children: Becky (Kenney) Hart, Lisa (Billy) Thurmond, Carol (Mark) Harrison, Linda (Tim) Herron, Susan (Joe) Hancock and Sally (John) Love, Ed Poss, Mickey (Kathy) Poss, and Brian Poss. She is also survived by a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Elizabeth Massey; and three sons; Bobby, Mark and Howard, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the graveside in Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley, AL. The Reverend Rusty Letson will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
