Charlotte Walker Pinkard, 76, of Valley, Alabama passed away at home on April 25th, 2023 after battling Pancreatic Cancer.
Charlotte was born on April 8th, 1945 to the late Millard Waymard Walker & Jessica Highland Walker in Cragford, Alabama. Charlotte graduated from West Point High School in 1964, and she went on to study business in Jacksonville, Fl. She married James (Jake) Thomas Pinkard on August 5th, 1967 at West Point Methodist Church. Charlotte worked in secretarial work most of her life, and she retired from Bob Harding Elementary School in 2009. After retirement, she spent her time with family and traveling all over the world with the group that she held dear to her heart, Travel with Friends. She was able to visit all 50 states by traveling to Oregon with her family in March 2023.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband James (Jake) Pinkard and parents Millard Waymard and Jessica Walker.
She is survived by her daughters, Traci (Bill) Wade, Shirley (Ricky Strickland) Kendrick, and Mandy (Thad) Cain; her grandchildren: Seth Jake Chandler Kendrick, Cassidi (Blake) McDaniel, Peyton Michelle Kendrick, Conner Marc Crosby, Jessica Rylee Kendrick, Wyatt James Cain, and Abby Lee Cain; her great grandchildren: Riley Jake Kendrick and Sophia Louise Kendrick; her two sisters: Katherine McCollough and Sherrie (Steve) Davis; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be Thursday, April 27th at 11:00am EDT at Langdale United Methodist Church, and the family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00am EDT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Langdale United Methodist Church building fund (6301 20th Ave, Valley, AL).
