Darris Knowles

     Mr. Darris Knowles, age 74, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley. He was born on September 22nd, 1946 in West Point, Georgia.

     Mr. Knowles is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sherry Knowles; brother, Ricky Knowles; nephew, Bobby Knowles; nieces, Barbara MacAlpin, Brooke Murphy, and Mistee Streat; aunt, Jo Ann Scroggins; cousins, Mark, Chris, Tim, and Larcus Kellum; sister-in-law, Beverly Marshall.

     He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Knowles; and stepfather, Emory Knowles.

     Mr. Knowles passing on Wednesday marked a sad and special time for his family. 54 years ago, to the day, he and Mrs. Knowles were married. Mr. Knowles was a member of Osanippa Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama. He enjoyed grilling and playing guitar, especially the steel guitar. He was the lead guitarist in the band Stolen Children. He was a big NASCAR and Alabama football fan.

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020 at 1:00 PM (EDT) at the graveside in Osanippa Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Bobby Overton will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at Osanippa Baptist Church.
