Donald “Don” Ray Elliott, age 67, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Langdale, Alabama on August 5, 1954, to the late William Elliott and Louise Orange Ware. He was also preceded in death by a brother Ricky Elliott.
Don attended Valley High School and he grew up in the Riverview community of the valley.
He worked for West Point Pepperell for 20 years. He then went to work as a truck driver for East Alabama Paving Company where he retired.
He was a wonderful husband, an excellent father and father figure to all children who needed a home. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, and watching the University of Alabama play football.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Elliott; children, Madison Elliott, Kaylee Elliott, Hannah Elliott, Angel Elliott, Kim Elliott Linder (Chuck), Virginia Adams, Jason Elliott, Lisa Foster, Amanda Doler; brothers, Mickey (Virginia) Elliott, O’Neal Elliott; grandchildren, Jason Charles Elliott, Annabelle Elliott, Collin Elliott, Dylan Elliott (Hannah W.), Mary Davis; two great-grandchildren expected to arrive soon – Camden Ray Elliott and Hariah Elliott; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 11:00A.M. EDT in Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00A.M. EDT until the service hour.
Due to the current pandemic, facial masks and social distancing will be required.
